Cape Fear Christian Academy split middle school scrimmages with visiting Highland on Friday as the Eagles took a 5-1 softball win after the Vikings prevailed, 9-0, in girls soccer.
Finley Phillips, who missed a scrimmage earlier in the week, had six strikeouts to pace CFCA defensively.
The Eagles ran the bases aggressively.
Finley Phillips had a single, two walks and five stolen bases. Her twin sister, Sailor Phillips, had a single and two stolen bases.
Hailey Dupree had two singles, a walk and two steals. Kinsley Godwin had a double and two steals. Kamryn Knight had two walks and two stolen bases.
The Vikings were coming off an 11-2 season in 2024.
