Eagles take girls tennis, golf wins Tuesday

Cape Fear Christian Academy took a 9-0 girls tennis win over visiting Fayetteville Christian on Tuesday and also posted a middle school girls golf victory, 156-179, over Grace Christian of Sanford at Keith Hills.

Singles winners at Nos. 1-6 for the Hawks were Ella John Dupree, Aubrey Jackson, Nina Sauer, Karson Hamilton, Anna Jackson and Savannah Autry. Teaming in Nos. 1-3 doubles were Dupree and Anna Jackson, Hamilton and Aubrey Jackson, and Sauer and Autry.

Charlotte Aldredge and Ella Butts won exhibition matches for the Eagles, who are 5-0 going into a match at Fayetteville Academy on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

CFCA took an 8-1 girls tennis win at Harrells on Monday.

Middle School Girls Golf

Carolina Wynns was the medalist over the Orange nine on Tuesday with a 46. Christianna Wynns was second with a 51 and Annabelle Scott shot 59.

CFCA plays in a match hosted by Grace at Quail Ridge in Sanford next Tuesday.

Boys Soccer

The CFCA middle school and varsity boys soccer teams were dealt road losses on Monday.

The middle school Eagles were topped, 8-1, by Village Christian. Cade Godwin scored for CFCA. The Eagles host Fayetteville Christian for a middle school match on Thursday at 4 p.m.

The varsity boys got a goal from Jackson Breslin in a 3-1 setback at Berean Baptist.

Volleyball

In matches at Berean on Monday, the CFCA junior varsity won, 2-0, and the varsity was edged, 3-2, by the Bulldogs.

The Eagles’ Gold team won a pair of matches at Village to move to 6-0 in the Southeastern Conference and 7-0 overall.

The Gold team hosts Fayetteville Christian on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Cross Country

The Eagles have their second meet of the season on Thursday at Haw River Christian.
