Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity boys soccer team was topped, 4-2, by visiting Berean Baptist on Monday in its first Sandhills Athletic Conference match of the season.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the third minute on a penalty kick by Jackson Breslin.

After Berean had gone ahead 2-1, CFCA (1-1) got an equalizer from Tripp Selph, who scored on Breslin’s assist after Thomas Honeycutt had gained possession at midfield.

A nonconference home game today with Southside Christian has been postponed due to considerations in regard to the heat.
