Cape Fear Christian Academy’s girls tennis team opened the season with a 9-0 win over Ridgecroft at Chowan University on Friday.

Singles winners for CFCA at Nos. 1-6 were Ella John Dupree, Aubrey Jackson, Nina Sauer, Karson Hamilton, Anns Jackson and Savannah Autry.

Lily Kate Dupree and Charlotte Aldredge each won exhibition singles matches for the Eagles.

In doubles, Ella John Dupree and Anna Jackson prevailed at No. 1, Aubrey Jackson and Hamilton won at No. 2, and Sauer teamed with Autry for a point at No. 3.

CFCA plays at Greenfield on Thursday at 4 p.m.

“Everyone played very well today,” said Eagles coach Page Jackson. “Our crowd was impressive. Huge match on Thursday.”
