Eighth-graders recognized as Eagles host St. JP II

Eighth graders on the middle school volleyball and soccer teams at Cape Fear Christian Academy were recognized Wednesday as the Eagles hosted St. John Paul II of Southern Pines for nonconference matches.

CFCA won the volleyball match, 2-0 (25-7, 25-15) as Mady Tyndall had six service aces. Finley Phillips had five aces. Avery Lassiter had four. Callie Wilson had three aces and Campbell Phillips had two.

Avery Lassiter had three kills and Finley Phillips had two.

The middle school team improved to 14-1 with a 2-0 win at Crossroads on Friday.

St. John Paul II took a 3-1 soccer win. Gunner Dorman scored on Eli Shwaikeh’s assist as CFCA led 1-0 at the half.
