Fifth-grader earns singles point

Fifth-grader Grace Viox of Cape Fear Christian Academy won her girls tennis match in the No. 5 singles at Rosewood on Friday, earning the lone team point for the Eagles in the nonconference action.

CFCA coach Jay James saw significant improvement across the board from his team in their third match of the season.

The local Eagles enjoyed a cookout and fellowship with their Rosewood counterparts following Friday’s competition.

CFCA plays Harnett Central on Monday at 5 p.m. at Campbell.
