First Federal Bank delivered a strong performance Tuesday to top Mosquito Joe’s 11-1 in the Dunn Parks and Recreation Majors (12-and-under) baseball tournament championship at the Nathan Harris Athletic Complex at Tyler Park on Carlie C’s IGA Field.
First Federal won both the regular season and tournament championship.
Starter Landon Neil was the winning pitcher for First Federal. In three innings, he gave up one earned run on two hits and two walks, with four strikeouts. Reliever Jax Woodall pitched one perfect inning, including two strikeouts.
For First Federal, Ross Stevens had two hits, including a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. John Nelson McLamb had two hits, including a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Wyatt Herring had two hits and two RBIs. Hunter Tyndall had a triple and two runs scored. Neil had one hit. Wyatt Lucas scored twice. Woodall and Joseph Bass scored one run apiece.
For Mosquito Joe’s, Jamari Thompson had a triple and one RBI. Jalen Evans had one hit and Will Dunman scored once.
The lone run for Mosquito Joe’s came when Dunman drew a walk to lead off the third inning and scored on a two-out triple from Thompson.
First Federal plated four runs apiece in the first and second innings and three in the fourth. The game ended on the 10-run rule when Herring singled to score McLamb in the bottom of the fourth.
