Five Hawks make All-Tri-County Six in football

Five football players from Triton have earned All-Tri-County Six 3-A Conference honors.

The group includes running back Austin Riewestahl, offensive tackle Carlos Nabor, defensive lineman Jalonte McNeill, linebacker T.J. Wilkins and defensive back Colton Neighbors.

Riewestahl, Nabor and Neighbors are seniors. McNeill is a junior and Wilkins is a sophomore.

Riewestahl had 152 carries for 726 yards in nine games as the Hawks’ schedule included two games that were canceled.

McNeill had 42 solo stops, nine assists and 15 tackles for loss.

Neighbors had 63 solo tackles, 32 assists and nine tackles for loss.

Wilkins made 45 solo stops and had 23 assists.

“I was pleased that we had five voted first team by the conference coaches,” said Triton coach Ben Penny.

Offensive Player of the Year honors went to A,J. Boulware of Lee County. Lance McLean of Western Harnett was Defensive Player of the Year. Special Team Player of the Year honors went to Dillon Smith from Western and Trey Underwood of Lee.

Steve Burdeau of Lee was Coach of the Year.

Earning honorable mention from Harnett Central were Hayden Smith, Jaden Meadows, Cameron Hicks, Kasey Perkins and Everett Blake.
