The team of Clint Knox, David Herring, James Harris and Jason Bethune shot 52 in a superball format at Chicora on March 29 to win the Central Carolina Community College Harnett Golf Classic.

The winning team was sponsored by Four Oaks Bank.

Ace Services sponsored the team of Bill Herring, Jeremy Milton, Nick Page and Zach Freeman, which was second in the First Flight, with a 54.

Also shooting 54 and taking third place was the Turlington Real Estate team of Ken Wiedle, Kyle Turlington, Steven Hamby and Will Peregoy.

In the second flight, a 62 earned first place for the Womble Rental Management team of Badgett Womble, Bobby Womble, Brian Wieking and Joe Wynns.

Second place in the second flight went to Collin Peregoy, David Foushee, Phil Bradley and Travis Bailey, who combined for a 62 for the First Bank team.

The Tart Law Group team of Donnie McLamb, Gale Tart, Joe Tart and Wallace Simmons shot 63 for third place in the second flight.

Tracy Parker, Knox, Chris Hockaday, and Mickey Thompson won for closest to the pin. Harris won for longest drive. Bud Jennings took the putting contest.

Bailey and Parrish Daughtry served as co-chairmen of the fifth annual event, which raised over $12,000. Most of the proceeds will go toward scholarships.

Other tournament committee members were Emily Hare, Jonathan Hockaday, Lee Malone, Rebecca Parker, Brad Salmon and Dr. T. Eston Marchant, CCCC president.
