Freedom tops CFCA in JV volleyball final

Cape Fear Christian Academy was dealt its first loss by a Sandhills Athletic Conference opponent in junior varsity volleyball in the league tournament final hosted by the Eagles on Wednesday.

Freedom Christian took a 2-0 win with set scores of 25-19 and 25-20.

CFCA went 8-0 in the league during the regular season and took a 2-1 win over visiting Fayetteville Christian in the semifinals Monday. Freedom, seeded second for the tournament, advanced past Village Christian in a semifinal on Tuesday.

CFCA JV team members included Bella Alphin, Leah Brannon, Natalia Brocious, Marlee Butler, Reyna Johnson, Anslee McLamb and Claire Parker.

The Eagles will honor their fall sports teams on Thursday (Oct. 25) at 6 p.m. in the school gym.
