Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school girls team won 42-6 at St. John Paul II in Southern Pines on Thursday. The Eagle girls went 6-2 for the regular season and earned the No. 3 seeding for the Southeastern Conference Tournament. The CFCA middle school girls play at No. 2 seed Fayetteville Christian on Monday at 4 p.m. … The CFCA varsity girls are the No. 4 seed for the Sandhills Athletic Conference Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Northwood Temple in the first round on Tuesday at 6 p.m. … The CFCA varsity boys are in a three-way tie for fourth in the conference going into tonight’s games. … East Carolina stopped a five-game losing streak with a 66-65 win over visiting Tulane in men’s basketball Thursday night. … Joel Embiid had 26 points and 20 rebounds as Philadelphia won 113-104 at Golden State, snapping an 11-game winning streak for the Warriors.
