Cape Fear Christian Academy’s girls tennis match with Freedom Christian at Arnette Park in Fayetteville was called off on Tuesday due to mosquitos.

Freedom athletic director Tim Pittman was in communication with park officials on Tuesday morning and was told the facility would be closed this week to allow for spraying to eliminate the pests, whose bite can sometimes transmit viruses.

The teams will play at Triton on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

CFCA managed singles wins by seventh-graders Ella John Dupree and Madeline Brocious in an earlier match with the Patriots.
