Cape Fear Christian Academy took a 3-1 nonconference varsity softball win at Lawrence Academy on Tuesday with a dominant pitching performance by Glenna McLamb, a Gardner-Webb signee.
McLamb allowed threw hits and struck out 15 as the Eagles improved to 2-0.
Kristina Kennedy, who has committed to George Mason, was the offensive leader with three hits and two RBIs, along with Megan Harrold with a hit and two runs. Hailey Wangelin had a hit and an RBI. Caylee Braswell had a hit and scored a run.
Kennedy’s RBI single in the top of the first put CFCA ahead to stay.
Lawrence defeated CFCA twice during the 2024 season, including a 2-1 win for the host Warriors in the playoff quarterfinals.
