Dunn Middle School’s football team won a 16-0 shutout over visiting Overhills on Wednesday.
Ro’mello Pegues completed 5-of-8 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown, with no interceptions, and Camrien McNeil ran for 50 yards on five carries and had a 25-yard reception to lead the Greenwaves.
Ezekial Dixon ran for 22 yards on three carries. Zack Winters ran for 15 yards on four carries and had a 12-yard touchdown reception. Mathew Strickland had two receptions for 16 yards. Ke’Quan Kenner ran for 12 yards and a touchdown on three carries. ZyQuan Smith had a four-yard run and a nine-yard reception. Masiah Peterkin had a five-yard run. Brandon Blue had a three-yard run.
Defensively, Dunn (3-1) held the Panthers to just 12 total yards of offense, including a net loss of 46 rushing yards, and forced four turnovers. Ahmad Morris had a fumble recovery and an interception. Blue and Smith each recovered a fumble.
Morris recovered a fumble on the first play from scrimmage. That led to a 12-yard touchdown pass from Pegues to Winters, with Winters running for the two-point conversion.
Dunn’s last score came early in the second quarter on an eight-yard run from Kenner. Winters ran for two.
Overhills hosts Coats-Erwin and Dunn is at Highland on Wednesday.
