Halifax rallies for 4-2 varsity softball win at CFCA

Visiting Halifax rallied from a 2-0 deficit after five innings for a 4-2 varsity softball win at Cape Fear Christian Academy on Friday.

The Vikings scored four runs in the sixth in dropping CFCA to 2-1 going into the Patriot Invitational at Faith Christian in Rocky Mount on Friday and Saturday.

The Eagles are scheduled to meet Freedom on Friday at 7 p.m. and take on Wayne Christian on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Kristina Kennedy was 2-for-3 against Halifax with two doubles, a walk and an RBI. Glenna McLamb had a double and two walks.

Megan Harrold had a hit, drew a walk and scored a run. Sailor Phillips had a hit, drew a walk and scored a run. Avery Lassiter had a hit.

McLamb had 16 strikeouts.

CFCA threatened in the bottom of the seventh when Kennedy doubled to left with one out and McLamb was walked, but the Vikings ended the game with a double play.
