Harnett Central varsity boys soccer takes 4-2 triumph at Triton

Harnett Central took a 4-2 Tri-County Six 3-A Conference varsity boys soccer victory at Triton on Monday on Senior Night for the Hawks.

The Trojans never trailed after a goal by Johnathan Solis on an assist by Brandon Cervantes in the 27th minute.

Central expanded its 1-0 lead at the half in the 42nd minute as Jonathan Coello assisted David Bautista.

Coello assisted Zach Sippel in the 65th minute for a 3-0 Trojans advantage. Central’s Luis Silva scored with Bautista assisting in the 74th minute.

Freshman Benny Villalvazo got the Hawks on the board in the 76th minute on a breakaway. Villalvazo tallied again on a free kick in the 77th minute.

The Trojans evened the season series after falling to the Hawks at home on penalty kicks on Sept. 26.

The Hawks are 5-8-2 overall and 3-5 in league play going into a home conference match with Lee County on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Central (3-7-2, 3-4) visits Lee County (10-7, 5-2) tonight and hosts Union Pines (7-5-2, 5-2) on Wednesday.
