Harnett Tennis Academy holds invitational tournament

The Harnett County Tennis Academy held its Summer Invitational Tournament on Saturday at the Harnett Central courts.

The event featured 36 players from five counties in four divisions from ages eight to 72.

Kylie Guerrero won the Beginner Junior Division and her Harnett Central teammate, Lauren Godfrey, was runner-up.

In the Adult Doubles Division, Joe Cockrell and Len White of Wake County defeated Lucius Smith and Jeremiah Montgomery of Wayne County in the final.

Jacob Brown and Reagan Gray of Harnett Central were champion and runner-up, respectively, in the Intermediate Junior Division.

Ethan Carlyle of Wayne County won the Advanced Junior Division and Davis Frazier of Wake County finished second.

The Harnett Tennis Academy is directed by Harnett Central tennis coach Jay James.
