Harnett Tennis Academy holds spring tournament

The Harnett County Tennis Academy held its spring tournament Saturday at Neill’s Creek Park adjacent to Harnett Central Middle School with 32 players competing in four divisions.

Top seed Cliff Manion won the Adult division.

No. 1 seed Tripp Rainey of Wake Christian Academy topped his brother, Reid Rainey, the No. 2 seed, for the Advanced Junior championship. Tripp Rainey edged Francisco Urieta on a 9-8 tiebreaker in the semifinals.

Second-seeded Reagan Gray of Harnett Central won the Intermediate Junior title.

The Beginner Junior division was won by Lauren Godfrey, an eighth-grader at Harnett Central.
