The Triton wrestling team hoists the Harnett County Cup.

Triton’s wrestling team defeated host Overhills, 41-36, and topped Western Harnett, 48-30, on Tuesday night to win the Harnett County Cup.

The win over the Jaguars was sealed as freshman Blayne Lucas (132 pounds) defeated Overhills’ Sydney Hill, 11-9, on a takedown with two seconds left in overtime.

The Hawks were led by Matthew Shorb (113), Nick Williams (145), Dionte Smith (195), Malachi Nettles (220) and Michael Carvin (285), each of which went 2-0 on the night.
