Triton went 2-1 in seven-on-seven football scrimmages in camp at Mount Olive on Thursday.
The Hawks topped Green Hope and Northwood but lost to Southeast Guilford.
On Friday, the Hawks topped Southeast Guilford but lost to Broughton and Green Hope.
Triton coach Ben Penny noted that Hawks quarterback Justin Leggett sat out against Broughton due to some inflammation in his elbow.
Triton won some individual linemen awards in first-day sessions. Jaquan Holmes had the best kick slide and Kyle Strickland was fastest off the ball.
Penny noted that Mike Carvin, Owen Thebarge and Carlos Nabor performed well in one-on-one drills.
“We did not practice well defensively,” Penny said Thursday. “We need to improve in that area (Friday).”
Penny said the Hawks performed better defensively on Friday.
“We were pleased with how the guys responded after the first day,” Penny said Friday. “The second session was run by area college coaches, so the guys got some experience being coached by the next level.”
