The Triton boys varsity boys basketball team celebrated its 2023-24 season at a gathering at Blackmon’s Catering in Dunn on Wednesday.
The Hawks were 20-8 overall and went 11-3 in the All American Conference.
All-conference selections included Romello Pegues, who averaged 15.6 points per game, and Brandon Surles (10.1). J.J. Cowan was honorable mention.
Individual recognition included: Matthew Snyder Coaches Award, Terrence Williams; Burnett-Fennell-Parker Most Improved Award, A. J. Dewar; McNeill-Williams Defense/Swiss Army Knife Award, J.J. Cowan; Hall-Harris-McBryde Engine Award, B.J. Surles; Robert Boykins Most Outstanding Player, Romello Pegues
“These guys faced and overcame a lot of adversity to have a special season,” said Triton coach T.J. Morrison.
