Triton’s varsity softball team improved to 5-0 on Wednesday night with an 8-5 nonconference win at West Johnston.

Getting two hits each for Triton were Haley Hicks, Kaila Cooney, Gracyn Slaughter, Alexis Howard, Brittany Ireland and Samantha Herring.

Caroline Marshall pitched into the fifth for the win and Slaughter finished for the save.

“Everybody got hits,” said Triton coach Mark Whitman. “Overall, it was a good night although it was very cold.”
