Hawks fall to Burris, Southern Lee, 6-1, in girls soccer

Southern Lee took a 6-1 win in a Tri-County Six 3-A Conference varsity girls soccer match at Triton on Monday night.

The outcome put the Hawks at 4-3 overall and 2-3 in league play. Triton took a forfeit win over the Cavaliers (2-5, 2-4) on March 31.

Southern Lee took a 1-0 lead on Monday night before the Hawks got a tying goal from Billie Kate Pope on an assist from Abby Hood at 8:54.

Allison Burris scored the go-ahead goal for the visitors in the 22nd minute. Burris finished with a hat trick as Southern Lee pulled away.

The Hawks host Western Harnett on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
