Triton hosted Hobbton for a football scrimmage on Wednesday morning and the Hawks dominated the scoring.

The big value of the session for Triton coach Ben Penny was the film of the clash with the Wildcats.

“The most important thing about today was that we were able to get some scrimmage film, which is something we haven’t been able to do since 2019 due to covid,” Penny said. “We will be able to try correct our mistakes going into week one.”

The Hawks start the season at hone on August 19 against Jordan.

“Our starters executed well,” Penny said. “We need to develop some depth to be successful this season and we were pleased to see the second teamers go out there and compete.”

“Jalen showed he is capable of contributing to the run game,” Penny said. “That is going to important for us to be successful this year and make a playoff run.”

The Hawks meet the host Cape Fear Colts in the Cumberland County jamboree on Friday at 9 p.m.
