Goals have been hard to come by for the Triton’s varsity boys soccer team in Sampson County.

On the other hand, the Hawks have played stellar defense in the neighboring region this season.

The Hawks played a scoreless draw at Midway on Sept. 4 and traveled to Hobbton for another nonconference contest on Thursday night.

The result with the Wildcats was another 0-0 deadlock. The outcome ended a four-match winning streak for Triton (4-4-3).

The Hawks return to Tri-County Six 3-A Conference play on Monday night at 6:30 at Lee.
