Triton opened its 2020 volleyball season with a 3-2 Tri-County Six 3-A Conference win at Lee County on Thursday evening.
Set scores were 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-20 and 15-5.
“The girls were down 1-2 and continued to fight for every point,” said Triton coach Wendy Simmons. “Overall we had a good serving night with only nine errors in five games.
“I am proud of the girls for not giving up.”
The Hawks continue league play at home on Monday against Southern Lee. The Hawks lost three matches to the Cavaliers in 2019.
Triton is coming off an 11-14 season last year. The Hawks were 4-6 in league play.
