Hawks recognize top athletes at awards banquet

Major athletic awards were presented at Triton on Thursday night. Triton presented awards for varsity sports as well as major individual honors for the 2022-23 year at an athletic banquet on Thursday evening.

Jalen Evans was named Male Athlete of the Year and Kyla Hubbard was presented the Female Athlete of the Year award.

Evans quarterbacked the Hawks to the fourth round in the NCHSAA 3-A playoffs, played point guard on a playoff team in basketball and signed with Wingate in baseball before helping Triton to the second round at shortstop.

Hubbard was a cheerleader as well as a standout in track and field in the winter and spring.
