Hawks roll out red carpet for Hall of Fame inductions, major 2023-24 awards

Triton rolled out a red carpet amid decorations in the lobby adjacent to the auditorium where the Hawks’ initial Hall of Fame class was enshrined Tuesday night.

Inductees with the primary sport and graduation year: Roert Boykins (basketball, 1990), Clay Eason (baseball, 1993), Rhonda Parks Charlot (track and field, 1994), Clayton White (football, 1996), Amanda Miller Smith (softball, 2007) and Wendy Simmons (volleyball coach, 1996=2021.

Summaries of fall, winter and spring sports seasons were displayed on a video screen.

Triton’s All American Conference champions included varsity boys soccer and softball.

AAC Player of the Year honors went to Elias Lopez in boys soccer (offense), Christian Siliezar in football (special teams), J.J. Cowan in football (offense), Grayson Lanier in girls swimming and Aubree Bass in softball (pitcher).

AAC Coach of the Year recognition went to Brian Foster in boys soccer, Dana Davis in girls tennis and Mark Whitman in softball.

The Hawks were represented in postseason competition in volleyball, cross country, girls golf, girls tennis, football, boys soccer, swimming, girls basketball, boys basketball, wrestling, boys tennis, boys golf, track and field, softball and baseball.

Athletic Director Nick Capps gave the welcome. Booster Club president Rob Jones expressed his appreciation to sponsors. Ron McLamb was the master of ceremonies.

Principal Marshall Jones presented the academic awards.
