Dalen Thompson had 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals to lead Triton to a 63-54 Tri-County Six 3-A Conference varsity boys basketball win over visiting Lee on Tuesday night.

Thompson made 9 of 12 field goal attempts as the Hawks improved to 9-7 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Travion Sanders had 17 points in the win over the Eagles (2-13, 0-3). Josiah Lett had 12 points and eight rebounds for Triton, which pulled away from a 23-22 lead at the half.

Jamari Amerson had seven points and four steals for the Hawks. Ladrabious Eason had six points and six rebounds. Myshon Smith added two points.

“Dalen is coming on strong, becoming more dependable and taking charge,” said Hawks coach T.J. Morrison. “Travion is attacking and leading.

“We didn’t shoot particularly well. We had to fight through some foul trouble and adversity. Jaden Geddie was out with an ankle sprain. We had to play Dalen some at the four (big forward) and he did well.”

Lady Hawks win comfortably

The Triton varsity girls prevailed, 41-20, with a balanced scoring attack that included nine points each from Abby Hood and Anastasia McDonald.

Kaila Cooney had eight points despite dislocating a finger. Tristan Ennis had seven points.

McDonald, Zoie Starling and Ennis had five steals each for the Lady Hawks. Hood had six rebounds and Ennis grabbed five. McDonald had four assists.

The Western girls slipped to 2-14 overall and 0-3 in the league.
