HC girls win at Cleveland, Trojan boys topped

Cleveland’s varsity boys basketball team took a 70-56 nonconference win over visiting Harnett Central on Tuesday night despite a 20-point, 11-rebound effort by senior Chase Mullins of the Trojans.

Mullins made eight of 11 field goal attempts.

Trevonne Williams had 10 points as Central slipped to 1-2 going into a nonconference contest at West Johnston on Friday night.

Justin Perkins had seven points in the setback, Kasey Perkins scored six, Croix Shipman had five points and Anthony Tomlinson netted four. Jaden Meadows and Austin Swan added two points each.

Mullins and Williams had two assists apiece for Central. Kasey Perkins had two steals.

Central’s varsity girls won, 60-28, after jumping out to an 18-2 lead in the first eight minutes.
