Harnett Central completed a regular-season sweep of visiting Lee County in baseball and softball on Thursday night.
The Trojans took a 5-1 varsity baseball win as Paul Gervase pitched six and one-third innings with nine strikeouts, two walks and two hits. Lincoln Ihler finished on the mound with one whiff.
Hunter McLamb had two hits as Central improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Tri-County Six 3-A Conference. Justin Perkins had a double. Jackson Yarbrough and Austin Swan had hits.
“We played good defense and hit the ball when we needed to,” said Central coach Lance Honeycutt.
The Trojans had topped host Lee 2-0 in eight innings in baseball on March 16.
The Trojans were scheduled to play at Southern Lee on Friday night.
Central followed up on a 7-4 softball win at Lee on March 16 by beating the Yellow Jackets 8-3 on Thursday night.
Despite two goals by Braelyn Barnes, Lee County took a 4-2 win in girls soccer to drop Central to 0-2 in league play.
