HC tops South again in girls soccer

Braelyn Barnes scored three goals for Harnett Central and Alexis Gordon added two as the hosts took a 5-1 nonconference girls soccer win over South Johnston on Monday night.

The list with assists for the Trojans included McKinley Heston, Jolee Nicholson, Hannah Nutt and Gordon, the daughter of Harnett Central principal Cindy Gordon.

Alexis Davis had South’s goal on a penalty kick.

Central led 2-1 at the half in following up on a 7-0 win at South on March 8.

Heston had three goals and an assist in the earlier meeting. Austin Bowling and Barnes each had two goals. Kara Reed, Gordon and Barnes had assists.

Freshman Ana Aparicio was in goal for the Trojans in both games.
