Host Heritage scored eight runs in the first inning and went on to a 14-0 win against Overhills in the third round of the NCHSAA 4-A softball playoffs on Tuesday evening.

The Jaguars (18-6) got a 2-for-2 hitting effort from junior Kiana Jones.

Freshmen Maaika Dones and Elizabeth Mitchell also had hits for Overhills.

Senior Ashley Ferguson was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and had one of three home runs for the Wolverines (18-1).
