Hobbton girls tie for 13th in state indoor track

Led by junior Lakelyn Bass, Hobbton tied for 13th in the NCHSAA 2-A/1-A indoor track meet at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Friday.

Bass was fourth in the long jump with an effort of 16 feet, 11 inches.

She helped the 4×400 relay team, which also included sophomore India Alston, senior Janet Thompson and junior Denise Sada-Romero, to a fifth-place finish in four minutes, 29.41 seconds.

Bass was sixth in the pole vault, clearing 10 feet.

Josh Polk was second in the 55-meter dash in 6.53 seconds for the Hobbton boys.
