Hobbton had another prolific scoring night in a nonconference varsity football win at Trask on Friday. Exactly how many points the Wildcats posted is not clear.
MaxPreps has the final score as 90-62. Various media outlets have reported Hobbton’s total as 92. One reporter on hand had the Wildcats’ with 88 points.
One problem is that one side of the scoreboard was not working, which contributed to the confusion.
“90-62 is the correct score,” texted Wildcats coach Joe Salas on Monday.
Hobbton quarterback Loden Barefoot, who passed for nine touchdowns in an 80-73 home loss to Midway on August 23, completed 27 of 34 against the Titans for 386 yards and six TDs.
Bobby Dial had 21 carries for 255 yards with five touchdowns.
Colby Weeks had eight catches for 127 yards with two scores. Josiah McLaurin had five receptions for 59 yards and two TDs. McLaurin also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
Chase Bland had six catches for 114 yards and a TD. Nathaniel McLamb had three receptions for 86 yards and a score.
The Wildcats (1-1) visit East Columbus on Friday at 7 p.m.
