Harnett Central baseball coach Lance Honeycutt has honored the memory of his father, Dan Honeycutt, with a tattoo on his left shoulder and arm.

The elder Honeycutt was a record-setting softball coach at Coats and Triton before serving as principal at Triton. As an administrator, he went on to become superintendent of the Harnett County Schools.

Dan Honeycutt passed from life on this earth in a tractor accident on his farm in May of 2018.

Lance Honeycutt played at Triton and later pitched at East Carolina.
