Host Dunn, Lillington dealt losses in Dixie AAA baseball state tourney

The opening day of the Dixie Youth AAA (10-under) State Baseball Tournament Saturday saw Lillington and host Dunn both suffer setbacks in their opening games.

Lillington was competitive early, but fell 13-2 to King’s Mountain.

Jack Barber had one hit and one run scored. Colin McLeod and Sam McFadden had one hit apiece. Jay McFadden scored once.

Dunn was unable to recover from a slow start and fell 16-1 to West Lincoln.

Eli Warren had one hit and one run scored and Mason White and William Bass had one hit apiece.

Dunn and Lillington will both play in elimination games at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Lillington meets Clinton and Dunn faces Dallas.
