HAMPTON, Va. — Jermaine Marrow scored 26 points to go along with seven rebounds and Kalin Fisher added 11 points as Hampton defeated visiting Campbell 64-58 in a Big South Conference men’s basketball game on Saturday night.

Marrow made just seven of his 22 field goal attempts but knocked down all nine of his free throws in 38 minutes.

Chris Clemons led three double-digit Campbell scorers but was held to a season-low 14 points. Clemons shot just four for 17 from the field but recorded his first double-double of the season by adding 10 boards.

Hampton (9-10, 4-2) carried a 30-21 lead into the break and maintained the upper hand despite multiple comeback efforts from the Camels. Campbell cut the lead to three on six different occasions in the final 12:51 but could not get closer.

Campbell (11-9, 4-2) pulled within 57-54 with 1:55 to play after Jordan Whitfield took a feed from Andrew Eudy and knocked down a triple from the wing. Hampton answered with two free throws after a foul.

Campbell again trimmed the lead to three with 18.3 seconds to play, 61-58, but Hampton converted its free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Hampton went 20-57 (.351) from the field while Campbell hit 21-68 (.309). Hampton made more free throws (18-23) than the Camels attempted (7-13).

Eudy scored nine of his 12 points in the second half while Whitfield added 10 points.

Clemons reached 102 consecutive games in double-figure scoring — the longest active streak in the nation.

Campbell plays at Radford on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
