Johnston County hall inductees announced

Inductees for the Johnston County Athletic Hall of Fame for 2018 have been announced.

The class includes George Daniels, North Johnston High School; Eddie Driver, Corinth Holders; Johnie King III, Cleveland; Gerald Poplin, Princeton, and Willie Smith – North Johnston.

The class of 2018 will be inducted on March 24, at Cleveland High School. Tickets may be purchased at any of the eight Johnston County public high schools.

The Johnston County Athletic Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 2007. Since then, a total of 69 deserving men and women from Johnston County have been inducted. It has been the goal of the Johnston County Public Schools to recognize the efforts and accomplishments of dedicated athletes, coaches, and support personnel.

The Johnston County Athletic Hall of Fame exhibit is located at the West Campus Building on 3rd Street in Smithfield.
