Cape Fear Christian Academy’s junior varsity boys basketball team won their matchup at Harrells, 58-36, as Conner Parrish had 21 points and 16 rebounds on Tuesday night.

The Crusaders won the varsity girls game, 44-32, and prevailed, 91-63, in the varsity boys game.

Ella John Dupree led the Lady Eagles (0-3) with 12 points. Glenna McLamb tallied 10. Madeline Brocious scored four. Savannah Autry and Laney Trainer added two points each.

Zeke Brock had 27 points for the CFCA varsity boys (0-3). Jakson Cullen scored 12 and Caden Scarborough scored 10.

The CFCA boys were nine of 31 from the field in the first half and trailed, 43-29. The Eagles cut the margin to nine points in the third quarter.

“We started playing as a unit and were getting shots we wanted, but they didn’t fall,” said CFCA varsity boys coach Dwain Ellis. “It’s hard to beat teams shooting 34 percent. … On a bright note, we got better as a unit.”

Cade Godwin had 14 points for the CFCA JV (1-1) with four 3-pointers. Fisher Stancil added 13 points and five rebounds with three threes. Taylor Smith had five points, Eli Burns scored three and Mason Gregory netted two points.

“We moved the ball and shared the ball well,” said junior varsity coach Bill Parrish. “I was glad to see our inside and outside game complement each other in the second half.”

The JV visits Fayetteville Christian tonight (Thursday, November 16) for a 6:30 p.m. start.

The CFCA varsities will be at home for the Senior Classic on Friday night and Saturday. The girls play an Eagles alumni team on Friday at 7 p.m. and the boys meet Community Christian (1-0) of Wilson on Friday at 8:30 p.m. Admission to the Senior Classic, a fundraising project by the Class of 2024, is $10 for adults.
