BUIES CREEK — Six different players scored to lead Campbell to a 7-0 win over Hampton Thursday night at the Eakes Athletic Complex.

Senior Cameron Turner came off the bench to score her first two goals of the season, while Emilee Barnett, Jackie Richards, Jessica Donald, Reagan Baiotto and Emma Bushee also provided goals for the Camels (6-2-2, 4-0 Big South).

Reaghan Duval and Stephanie Martelli combined for the shutout in goal for the Camels, who extended their unbeaten streak to six matches (5-0-1), including four-straight victories, and logged their third clean sheet in the span.

Campbell’s scoring outburst was the team’s highest since a 9-0 victory over Chicago State on Aug. 27, 2017. The Camels finished with a 24-3 advantage in shots, 16-2 in attempts on target.

Hampton (1-7-1, 0-3-1), which dropped its fourth-straight game, did not muster a shot until the 66th minute.

Barnett came on as a substitute in the 12th minute and 2:45 later scored her first goal in a Camel uniform. Bushee slid a pass to Barnett, whose left-footed shot deflected off the right post and in.

Donald’s 28th minute header bounded off the cross bar, leaving the lead at one.

In the 42nd minute, Richards doubled the margin for the Camels when she headed in Cazzi Norgren’s corner kick.

Campbell out-shot the Pirates 9-0 in the opening half and had 67 percent of the possession before the break.

CU scored three times in the first 13:35 of the second period to put the game out of reach. Turner finished a build up down the left flank off assists from Baiotto and Mary Tierney to give CU a 3-0 lead in the 50th minute.

Donald and Baiotto scored 55 seconds apart in the 58th and 59th minutes. Bushee then added her fourth goal of the year – and third in the past three matches – in the 71st. Turner provided the final strike when she finished a cross from Sage Dougherty and touch by Sofia Libman.

“Give credit to Hampton. They had a match on Tuesday and did not stop fighting,” said Campbell head coach Samar Azem. “We made a few adjustments at halftime, talked about moving the ball more and the players did an unbelievable job in the second half. Creating goals is hard and getting goals from so many different players and positions, I was really proud of our team.”

The Camels recognized five graduating seniors following the match: Barnett, Bushee, Duval, Madi Thomsen and Turner.

Campbell returns to action next Wednesday (October 6) with a 4 p.m. match at Longwood.
