Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity girls basketball team started Homecoming with a 58-20 win over Thales Academy of Apex on Friday night.
The Eagle varsity boys followed up with an 82-32 victory.
E.J. Bethea had 25 points as the CFCA boys improved to 9-3. Parker Watson scored 13 points. Marcus Owens had 12 points. Riley Adams contributed eight points.
Scoring six points each for the Eagles were Ramiro Arrillaga, Greg Moneymaker and Lucas Capalbo.
CFCA got two points apiece from Michael Okoye, Richard Edwards and Spencer George.
Leah Brannon scored 22 points for the CFCA girls (4-4).
The Lady Eagles had a 40-13 lead at the half and the clock began to run continuously in the third quarter.
CFCA got eight points each from Kristen Bass and Meredith Taylor. Talisha McNeill had six points. Anslee McLamb and Claire Parker had four points apiece. Meghan Taylor and Jada Horne each scored two points. Aubree Bass added one point.
CFCA will host Berean Baptist of Fayetteville for varsity girls and varsity boys games on Monday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
