Triton’s girls golf team may have graduated Kathryn Elliott, but the Hawks still won their season-opening match at Pine Hollow in Clayton on Tuesday as Lana Klein claimed medalist honors with a 41.

Elliott was Tri-County Six 3-A Conference Player of the Year and signed with South Carolina-Upstate.

Triton totaled 144 with Neva Chance contributing a 50. Taylor Whitney and Mackenzie Reid each had 53s as three scores counted.

North Johnston was a shot back at 145. Clayton was third at 150.

Also competing were Midway (159), Southern Nash (159), C.B. Aycock (164), Rosewood (174) and Princeton (181).

Triton has its first home match at Chicora Country Club on August 28.
