The Midway varsity girls basketball team opened its season on Monday night with a 43-24 win at South Johnston as Alyssa Wrench had 19 points and eight rebounds.

Wrench made eight of 13 field goal attempts.

Jenna Pope had eight points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Raiders. J.J. Sankey had eight points. Alexis Jackson had four points. Kris McKoy and Kaylah Jackson added two points each.

Midway hosts Hobbton tonight.
