The Midway varsity girls basketball team won 68-62 at Goldsboro on Thursday night to finish the regular season 21-1 overall and 11-1 in the East Central 2-A Conference.
The Lady Raiders are tied atop the league standings with East Duplin. Conference coaches are scheduled to meet Saturday (Feb. 10) for a drawing which would determine which team would be the top seed in the seven-team league tournament and receive a first-round bye.
The boys and girls league tournaments will be hosted by East Duplin.
Leah Williams had 21 points at Goldsboro and J.J. Sankey added 15. Hannah Lucas scored 11. Alyssa Wrench finished with eight points and Jenna Pope added seven points.
“Goldsboro has got a good team,” said Midway coach Allen McLamb.
The Lady Cougars (10-10, 6-5) got 27 points from junior guard Tziah Kelly.
Goldsboro won the boys game, 96-47.
