Harnett Central junior Maggie McCormick won the NCHSAA 3-A Mideast girls cross country regional on Saturday at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary with a time of 17 minutes, 59.05 seconds.
The Trojans were fifth among 17 girls teams as Central senior Lauren Greenspahn was 22nd individually in 20:37.90. Also contributing to the HC scoring were freshman Savannah Godfrey (31st, 21:09.92), sophomore Tinasia Davis (41st, 21:45.34) and sophomore Kimberly Castro (67th, 22:58.50).
Chapel Hill won the girls team title.
The Central boys were sixth among 22 teams as soph Robert Bowman led the way in 17:28.92 for 21st.
Also scoring for the Trojans were junior Drew Adams (29th, 17:38.07), senior Mitchell Blalock (30th, 17:40.92), senior Kyle Hadding (40th, 17:53.65) and senior Jesus Gonzalez (42nd, 17:56.41).
