Harnett Central golf standout Michael Snyder will be taking his skills to the program at N.C. State.
Going into his senior season with the Trojans, Snyder has been all conference for three years and a 3-time qualifier for the NCHSAA 3-A tournament.
“He’s sneaky long off the tee,” said Central coach Jody Milliron of the 6-feet, 4-inch left-hander. “He’s improved his distance since he was a freshman. His carry is about 285 (yards).”
As they say, it’s now how you drive, but how you arrive.
“His shot making around the green is good and he putts well,” Milliron said. “His wedge and short irons are where he makes birdies.”
Snyder put together rounds of 64, 67 and 66 in a tournament at Greenville Country Club in 2023.
His lowest round at his home course, Keith Hills, for the Trojans was a 68 as a sophomore in two trips around the Black nine.
Snyder plans to study Business/Sports Management in Raleigh.
