Middle Creek prevails vs. Hawks

Middle Creek downed Triton in a pair of nonconference varsity basketball games hosted by the Hawks on Friday night.

The 4-A Mustangs improved to 12-2 with a 65-43 win in the boys game as 6-feet, 7-inch junior Sam Perez led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Senior Josiah Lett paced Triton (5-6) with 12 points and five rebounds. Keionta Burnett added eight points for the Hawks, Ladrabious Eason had four points, five rebounds and three steals. Jaden Geddie scored six points and Travion Sanders had five.

Triton struggled from beyond the arc, going 0-for-13.

Middle Creek took a 42-32 win in the girls game.

Triton visits Cleveland on Tuesday night before starting Tri-County 3-A Conference play at home against Lee on Friday night.
