Midway’s varsity baseball team defeated host James Kenan 14-4 on Monday night as Brayden Coats had four runs batted in.
Cameron Barefoot and Carson Calcutt had three hits each as the Raiders improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the East Central 2-A Conference.
Barefoot and Chandler Williford each had two RBIs for Midway.
The Raiders totaled 14 hits and the Tigers (0-7, 0-3) were charged with eight errors.
Eli Culbreth had four strikeouts in two innings for Midway. Sawyer Sutton had three strikeouts in two and two-thirds innings. Cal Tyndall struck out the next three batters to wrap up the game in the seventh after a leadoff double.
The Raiders host Triton on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Girls soccer
Midway took a 2-0 win over James Kenan in girls soccer to improve to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in league play.
Rachel Edwards and Kasey McLamb (penalty kick) had second-half goals for the Raiders.
Jordan Wallum had six saves in goal for Midway.
The Raiders host Triton on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. A match scheduled for Tuesday against Rosewood was canceled.

Midway defeated the host Tigers 14-1 in five innings in softball.
