Winning pitcher Eli Culbreth helped himself with two hits and two RBIs as the Midway varsity baseball team improved to 10-0 Saturday with a 7-1 nonconference win over visiting Voyager Academy.
The Vikings (5-4) managed just two hits. Culbreth (2-0) allowed one hits in four innings while walking two and striking out five.
Sophomore Dawson Wiggins pitched the last three innings for the Raiders. He yielded one hit and an unearned run while issuing one walk with three strikeouts.
Campbell signee Chandler Williford had two hits, two runs and an RBI for Midway. Brayden Coats and Drew Matthews each had a hit and an RBI. Carson Calcutt had two stolen bases.
The hosts scored three runs in the first, one in the third and three more in the fifth.
The league-leading Raiders put their 4-0 East Central 2-A Conference record on the line as they host Goldsboro (6-5, 3-2) on Tuesday (April 2) at 7 p.m., weather permitting.
